Concepts is set to deliver another collaborative sneaker, this time hitting up Vans Syndicate to bring fans a new Old Skool mock-up. The classic silhouette gets re-equipped with a washed denim upper, off-white toe hits on the toe and heel, as well as a checkered midsole and grey panels that imitate the look of duct tape. As always, Concepts makes a point of telling a story that succinctly coincides with the release, and the dialogue this time is in reference to legendary Boston-based dive bar The Rathskeller. As New England’s version of CBGB, The Rathskeller played host to names like The Ramones, Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, Sonic Youth and many more before its closing in 1997. The “Rat Hunter” sneaker will be dropping Thursday, October 4th for $90 USD, with availability being offered in-store and online from Concepts.
KENZO continue their domination, not just in the fashion world, but also with a new collaboration with water giant Evian. Teaming up for the design of their limited-edition 2014 bottle, the bottle features the zig-zag pattern from the duo’s David Lynch-inspired Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Humberto Leon explained “We loved the idea of bringing that element. This is a really cool optical illusion. When you look through it, you see the different patterns going through.” He also added “Carol and I love food. We are really excited about the idea of seeing Kenzo bottles in the market, including in great restaurants.” Recently the brand released the third volume of its KENZINE magazine.
