This month is a super busy one. Firstly, there’s the Men’s London Fashion Week and then there’s Pitti Uomo. Not to mention the distraction of all the cool football jersey previews for the FIFA 2018 World Cup. Diversions aside, I’ve still managed to find some stonkingly good releases, many that would make perfect Father’s Day presents too. So, following on from my May round-up, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite products and releases for the month of June 2018 – enjoy.
Polonius is an ode to the romance and nostalgia of Rock and Roll. Creative Director, Dougie Poynter is inspired by the meeting of his two great passions; music and acting, and how these two important aspects of his life translated into something more. Stemming from a fascination of how the theatres once used to stage the plays of Shakespeare, then became a home to the rock bands of the 60s and 90s, Poytner explores the allure and legacy of these liminal spaces and the artists who occupied them.
Sip & Shave Experience
Gentleman Jack, the double mellowed, twice as smooth whiskey from the makers of Jack Daniel’s has launched a bespoke Father’s Day experience in partnership with renowned brand Barber Barber who has stores nationwide. Gentleman Jack this month invites you to get ‘Twice as Smooth’ with a gentleman’s wet shave for fathers and sons, accompanied with two mellowed serves of the Jack Daniel’s family’s smoothest sippin’ Tennessee Whiskey, the perfect Father’s Day treat.
Escuyer World Cup T-Shirts
Whether you’re a semi-professional or simply a Sunday sports fan, an amateur or an “I-could-care-less”er… It is always hard to ignore the World Cup fever that blazes every four years. To celebrate this next event in style, the Belgian brand Escuyer has designed a capsule T-shirt collection highlighted in the colours of the eight countries that support the label e.g. Bobby Moore for England, Zinedine Zidane for France, Pelé for Brazil and, of course, Eden Hazard for Belgium.
Freitag F155 Clapton
An awesome selection of unique backpacks made from used truck tarpaulins, used car seat belts and recycled PET by Freitag. All these material are tough as hell, which means this bag is going to be with its owner on many journeys for decades to come. It features a water repellent fold’n’roll top closing which means you can get a surprising amount of stuff inside, and there’s a laptop compartment and various docking loops for a helmet, u-lock and key fob. A superb backpack with a unique story and sustainable credentials.
The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve
When it comes to Father’s Day gifts, whisky is an exceptional choice. Choosing which one, however, is not always so straightforward. Packed shelves call out for your attention, and if you’re new to whisky, it can seem like a whole other world. Let us make it easy for you… For a whisky that’s a privilege to give and receive, it has to be The Dalmore. For the discerning malt whisky drinker, The Dalmore showcases its commitment to sourcing rare and exquisite casks from the world’s finest bodegas and wineries. A new release from the distillery, The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is matured in the finest American White Oak ex-bourbon casks and aged Tawny Port Pipes, offering a fruity and complex whisky for Dad’s with an indulgent taste.
Keen UNEEK x Garbstore
British menswear brand, Garbstore, have teamed up with Keen UNEEK on an exclusive, limited edition style. On a constant quest for innovation, Keen UNEEK was born out of a desire to create an entirely new footwear concept that challenged the aesthetics and design of any other kind of sandal. The process began by examining the foot and redesigning every single piece of the sandal to compliment the shape of it. Originally crafted from 2 pieces of cord and a sole, the shoe has a look and feel like no other.
Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset
For the first time ever, owners of iOS devices can produce videos with a high-quality 3D audio track just by wearing a headset by Sennheiser. To achieve that, the microphones are positioned to pick up the sound just like your ears would. With the Smart Slider you can adjust the mic sensitivity to normal or loud, i.e. concert environments. This results in a stunningly three-dimensional and immersive sound experience, which can be enjoyed with any headphones on any stereo-capable device, allowing the listener to experience audio as if they were actually there.
