A Look Inside KITH’s New New York Flagship Store

In partnership with art and architecture firm Snarkitecture, KITH recently expanded their Manhattan location with an innovative new retail space. A new entry from Bleecker St. links the newly expanded apparel store with the existing footwear store. The entry prominently features KITH’s curated selection of accessories in a theatrically-lit environment. Overhead, a custom Snarkitecture installation creates the first main focal point of the store: an elliptical dome made from nearly 500 all-white cast replicas of the original 1985 Jordan 1.

A doorway leads into the main space of the store, where mannequins highlight the newest apparel collections. On axis with the mannequins is a display which at first appears opaque, but upon approach turns completely clear to reveal the latest KITH release. A set of risers near the storefront windows features KITH Seasonal merchandise while also providing a place for customers to sit and take in the environment of the store. The opposite side of the store is home to a massive shelving system that displays the KITH Classics collection.

This main area of the store is tied together by another custom installation: a wall with nearly 15,000 custom KITH-branded pencils. The wall is interactive as well – customers are encouraged to take a pencil from the wall as a souvenir of their visit.

Aside from offering a wide assortment of new original product, KITH will now offer brands in-store, such as Norse Projects, Off-White, Stampd, Ones Stroke, Aimé Leon Dore, and Isaora.

A First Look at the Ace Hotel x Tokyobike Collaborative Bicycle

Following our in-depth interview with Ace Hotel’s Kelly Sawdon and Tokyobike’s Dean Di Simone, we present a first look at the duo’s collaborative bicycle. While we learned a ton about the bike’s backstory and how it came to be chatting with the two, specific details were scarce. Now, the bike in its entirety alongside the specifications have been revealed, giving the idea behind the project physical form.

Altogether, the bike arrives in two matte colorways which play on Ace Hotel Los Angeles’ color scheme. Appropriate for the laid-back Californian city, the bike is a single speed and comes equipped with Gropes leather grips, a Brooks saddle, a limited edition Nitto handlebar and a Wald back carrier. Check out the bike above and give it a whirl at your next visit to Ace Hotel Los Angeles.

Absolut Invites You to “Meet Perfection”

From seed to sip, every drop of Absolut Vodka is expertly crafted by generations of farmers and distillers from the small village of Åhus, Sweden – in a region with more than 400 years of superior vodka-making expertise. What’s their secret? High quality, locally sourced ingredients – pristine aquifer water & pure winter wheat (the latter carefully selected in partnership with 450 local farmers).

These high quality ingredients, in conjunction with the care and attention of a village that has been crafting vodka since 1879, results in a smooth, rich vodka that transforms any cocktail.

Famous Eyeglasses

Lolita Glasses
Lolita Glasses Artwork by Federico Mauro

Andy Warhol and his polonecks; Twiggy and her mini skirts; Marlon Brando and his leather jackets. As we saw with our Vintage Style Owns chart, certain cultural icons come hand in hand with their clothing traits, their chosen pieces becoming almost as familiar as the faces that sport them. The same goes for accessories and in particular glasses, as recognised in this week’s Happy Monday, a marvellous series by Itali…
