Another week, and another animal chair has won the hearts and minds of the AnOther Lovers, with yesterday’s Easter bunny being superseded by a James Plumb stool in the gawky, legs akimbo shape of a fawn. It’s rare to be rendered awestruck by the cuteness of a piece of furniture, but the incalculable ‘ah’ factor of this particular piece has been too much for us all, bringing back childish memories of Bambi, and handing u…

Nike Dunk Hi Premium SB “Hacky Sack”

Having shown you already the Zoom Stefan Janoski, Eric Koston SE and Dunk Low Premium, we move onto the Nike Dunk Hi Premium SB from the popular “Hacky Sack” pack. Compared to the other sneakers in the series, the Dunk lends less real estate of the upper to the all-over pattern. Furthermore a hemp fabric is applied to the heel and the gum outer sole also underlines the general aesthetic and message associated with the theme of the sneaker. The Nike Dunk Hi Premium SB “Hacky Sack” is now in stock at Kasina.

The North Face Purple Label x Mark McNairy “Daisy Camouflage” Capsule Collection

In an interesting new collaboration The North Face Purple Label reached out to American designer Mark McNairy to design an exclusive fabric for them for Spring/Summer 2014. As part of the team-up McNairy turned his signature daisy flower camouflage pattern into a technical fabric for the Japanese label by The North Face, using PERTEX water repellent fabric. The outcome is a small capsule collection, which consists of a mountain wind parka, as well as a day pack backpack and matching waist bag and packing cases. The full range of the The North Face Purple Label x Mark McNairy “Daisy Camouflage” Capsule Collection will release in the coming week at nanamica stores in Japan.

Now I’m no mathematician, but surely the internet + the ancient craft of ceramics = slick pots with a rainbow fade. These are like online catnip to girls who are into Flight of the Conchords, zine fairs, and houseplants. Ceramicist Angel Oloshove is way, way ahead of the pottery game with these sherbert-coloured beauties she calls Little Creatures.

How HBO Recreated The Studiedly Zany Offices Of Silicon Valley

Production designer Richard Toyon researched the offices of everyone from Steve Jobs and Bill Gates to Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk to create the playground-plush set of Mike Judge’s “Silicon Valley.”

Silicon Valley is not your typical workplace comedy. The new HBO series, loosely based on creator Mike Judge’s experience as test engineer at a tech startup in the ’80s, follows protagonist Richard Hendriks–who invents a powerful file-compression technology called Pied Piper–as he starts his own company and fights for a slice of the tech-boom pie. Along the way, we get a fictionalized glimpse of Silicon Valley office spaces–a subject easy to satirize, given how Bay Area tech giants such as Google have become famous for their zany, playground-plush offices spaces.
