Kris Van Assche Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Belgian designer and creative director of Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche, presents his latest collection for Fall/Winter 2014 at Paris Fashion Week. Focusing on a palette of cool blue, grey, black, rust, and mustard, the offering was a sharply tailored roundup of jackets, pants, button-up shirts, sweaters and re-imagined vests. A textured black-and-white chevron print featured prominently, as did colorful geometric chest adornments. Silhouettes were slightly loose and bulky due to heavy layering, but still retained the clean and modern look the designer is known for.

McQ by Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Alexander McQueen‘s younger, more rebellious second line, McQ, unveiled its Fall/Winter 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. It captures the essence of the whole line, with garments given a punk-edge through the use of red tartan on jackets and outerwear, tough, military boots, ripped jeans and shredded knitwear. Design features include razor-sharp accessories, zip detailing and leather patches. The faded jeans and bomber jackets seem to be an ode to another subcultures of the era – skinheads. While sharp double-breasted overcoats and ankle-length tailored trousers feel like a nod to Mods.

Kenzo Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Continuing this season’s Paris Fashion Week, local label Kenzo presents their Fall/Winter 2014 collection. With a slimmer silhouette compared to what other designers have offered this season, the French brand makes heavy use of jackets, sweaters and coats with flight jacket-style collars. Hints of lime alongside bold graphics provide a dynamic contrast for yet another solid collection from the contemporary label.
