Los Angeles-based brand The Quiet Life gave an indication that its headspace was dominated by the world of visual art in its recent “Garvanza” collection, so named for the historic LA area considered to be the birthplace of California’s arts and crafts movement. So it comes as little surprise that the brand would turn to an actual artist for its latest effort: a capsule collection created with renowned muralist Erin D. Garcia.
Garcia primarily works in large-scale installations, but the artist transformed his characteristic colorful, overlapping shapes into apparel-print form seamlessly. He created two custom prints for the collection, both of which evoke the kind of ease we reserve for a day spent on the beach. The capsule line is comprised of 21 separate pieces, which range from woven shirts to swimming shorts to several varieties of snapbacks (one of which is amusingly titled the “dad/polo.’
Look out for The Quiet Life x Erin Garcia line to appear on the brand’s online store and select retailers this Tuesday, July 11.
